Prime Day has ended, but these helpful products can make everyday life with MS easier all year long. Prices and availability may change.
When you are managing Multiple Sclerosis naturally, online shopping isn’t just about convenience—it’s a crucial tool for energy budgeting and physical safety. I live in a rural area, which means running errands isn’t a quick trip; it’s a whole production. When temperatures drop, roads are icy, or fatigue hits, being able to shop from my couch keeps me safe and preserves my energy bank.
Prime Day deals for MS can be a great time of year to invest in your quality of life. Below are the exact smart-home devices, accessibility tools, and independence-saving gadgets I use daily in my own home. I only recommend things I actually rely on to keep moving, stay independent, and protect my peace.

🧹 Smart Home Helpers: Letting Technology Do the Heavy Lifting
On high-fatigue days, the tiny physical tasks around the house add up fast. Automating your environment is one of the easiest ways to prevent a symptom flare-up.
The Ultimate Robot Vacuum Battle (Why I Chose Roborock)

We have two huskies (need I say more? 🤣), so our floors are a constant battlefield of pet hair! 🐾 My robot vacuum runs daily. I did a massive amount of research on different robot vacuums, and I specifically chose the Roborock Robot Vacuum because it is incredibly user-friendly. I have it hooked up to Alexa so I can control it entirely with my voice.
I do make sure to stay nearby just in case it gets jammed or trapped on something (which happens to all robot vacuums!), but it is a wonderful feeling to just kick back, relax in my recliner, and let it do all the work while I rest my legs. When it occasionally jams, it is extremely easy to unjam—unlike my mother’s vacuum, which requires scissors to clear. For someone with MS, avoiding having to bend down to fight with a vacuum is a major safety win. Keep an eye out for Roborock Prime Day bundles to score a discount on this life-changer!
Voice-Controlled Freedom with Alexa

I have my smart home devices hooked up to Amazon Echo Dot and Echo Show devices. Alexa runs my daily routines so my legs don’t have to:
- Automated Blinds: My voice-controlled Smart Mini Blind Wands are a favorite upgrade. I didn’t have to buy expensive new blinds; these simply attach to my existing ones. Alexa automatically opens them 15 minutes before sunrise, and in the summer, she closes them just before the hot summer sun hits our west-facing windows.
- Smart Lighting: Alexa turns on our Smart Bulbs 15 minutes before sunset, meaning I never have to reach over heavy furniture or fumble with awkward switches in the dark. We also have Smart Plugs, which are helpful for hard-to-reach places.
- Climate Control: Our Smart Thermostat is programmed to automatically raise the heat during the day and lower it while we sleep, but I can also adjust it instantly from my phone, wherever I am.
- The Next Upgrade: My husband is already eyeing a Robot Lawn Mower so we can keep the property looking great while staying cool inside!
🚪 Accessibility & Mobility: Small Tools, Massive Dignity
Making your home accessible doesn’t mean it has to feel like a hospital. These subtle, incredibly practical tools are life-changers for people managing physical limitations.
No-Bend Dressing: Sock Aids & Grabbers
- The Handy Sock Aid: We originally bought a Sock Aid for my husband after he had surgery, but it was so incredibly convenient that he still uses it every single day. If bending down to pull on socks drains your morning energy or throws off your balance, this simple plastic tool can make getting dressed much easier.
- The Reacher-Grabber: Another post-surgery purchase that became a permanent household staple! He called it a lifesaver 😂. I loved his so much I bought a second one for myself. Now, when my ornery cat knocks things onto the floor, I reach for my Grabber Tool instead of painfully bending down and straining under the furniture.
Preventing the Trip: Threshold Ramps & Skechers
When my body gets tired, my MS likes to cause “drop foot,” and my right foot tends to catch on our door thresholds. To help reduce this tripping hazard, I installed a couple of low-profile Threshold Ramps. No more stumbles! Pair these with a good pair of lightweight Skechers Slip-On Shoes for a secure, non-slip grip around the house that requires zero fumbling with laces.
My “No-Switch” Lighting Secret
When balance is a challenge, searching for a light switch in the dark is the last thing you need. I use rechargeable, magnetic motion-sensor lights from Amazon throughout our home—not just under cabinets! I place them wherever a little light is needed, and even on the back of our toilet. They turn on when I move nearby, lighting the way without reaching for a switch. It’s a simple way to make nighttime trips easier. I even have one under my bed near the edge for when I need to get up in the middle of the night. This saves me from turning on brighter lights and fully waking myself up.
🚽 Bathroom Independence: Bidets, Safety Rails & the Right Toilet Height

A Taller Toilet: We had a taller ADA-height toilet professionally installed, which makes sitting down and standing back up much easier for me. One lesson I learned the hard way: check the height while barefoot. We measured the height I needed while I was wearing shoes, and without them, our toilet is actually a little too tall for me.
A Toilet Stool: That mistake led me to another helpful find—a foldable toilet stool. It gives my feet a comfortable place to rest when I’m sitting on the taller toilet. Changing your foot position can also make bowel movements easier, which is especially helpful if you deal with constipation. It folds away when it isn’t needed. Here’s the one I own.
The Bidet: To be completely honest, my husband wasn’t too keen on the idea of a bidet when we first hooked it up before his surgery. Afterward? He was profoundly thankful it was there. If weakness, hand weakness, or balance issues make personal hygiene difficult, a bidet can make things much easier and more independent.
Toilet Safety Rails: Our freestanding toilet safety frame gives us sturdy armrests to push up from when standing. My husband found it vital after surgery, and I now use it every single time.
Motion-Sensor Lighting: I mentioned these lights earlier, but I had to point out how convenient they are to place near the toilet. I keep a rechargeable motion-sensor light on top of the toilet. At night, it automatically gives me enough light to see without searching for a switch or turning on the bright bathroom light. This is the one I own.
🎄 Stocking Up for the Holidays Early
One of my absolute favorite ways to use the October Prime Day sales is to buy my Thanksgiving and Christmas baking ingredients in advance. Grocery stores are a madhouse in November and December. By purchasing my shelf-stable staples now, I save money, avoid the stressful holiday crowds, and ensure my pantry is stocked with clean, whole-food ingredients.

Here is exactly what is on my October Prime Day deals for my MS shopping list to prepare for a healthy, anti-inflammatory holiday season:
My Thanksgiving Pantry Stock-Up List
- Clean Baking Staples: I stock up on single-ingredient pure pumpkin puree, coconut cream, and virgin coconut oil.
- Savory Essentials: I stock up on extra virgin olive oil when it goes on sale. I use it constantly for roasting vegetables, homemade dressings, sautéing, and holiday side dishes, so this is one pantry staple I know won’t sit unused.
- Nature’s Sweeteners & Holiday Extras: Around the holidays, you don’t need refined white sugar to create festive treats. Instead, I rely on nature’s sweeteners like pure maple syrup, raw honey, and coconut sugar to bring a naturally sweet flavor to my favorite dishes. I also stock up on holiday baking extras like pure vanilla extract (I use Simply Organic Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract), rich coconut cream, and antioxidant-packed dried fruits—including cranberries, dates, and raisins—to add rich, seasonal flavor to our family plates while sticking with the ingredients that work well for me.
- The Crunch Factor: I look for bulk deals on raw nuts and seeds (like walnuts and pepitas) to roast ahead of time for festive salad and side-dish toppings.
- The Heavy Metal Spice Tip: Cinnamon is a healthy spice, but quality matters. A 2024 study on PubMed found varying amounts of lead in cinnamon samples, which is why I pay attention to the brands I buy. Consumer Reports also tested dozens of cinnamon products and found very low lead levels in the 365 Whole Foods Market cinnamon they tested. I buy Whole Foods 365 cinnamon and watch for it to go on sale.
- Healthy Snacks: I always grab a few boxes of Simple Mills Rosemary & Sea Salt Crackers to have on hand for holiday appetizers with guacamole or mango salsa.
Christmas Baking: Taking Shortcuts to Save Energy
When it comes to holiday baking, I am a huge fan of taking shortcuts to save my physical energy. Standing in the kitchen measuring out a dozen different specialty flours is exhausting. Instead, I use high-quality boxed mixes as my base.
My absolute favorite baking shortcut is the Simple Mills Vanilla Cupcake & Cake Mix. It is completely gluten-free and dairy-free, and it allows me to recreate beloved family traditions without the fatigue crash. I use it to make two of my staple holiday treats:

- Grandpa’s Pineapple Upside-Down Muffins: My grandpa used to make traditional pineapple upside-down muffins. I managed to completely convert his recipe to be gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free (eggs give me terrible gut pain, so they are a strict no-go for me!). Using the Simple Mills box makes them the perfect, slightly stiff muffin texture I remember from childhood. (Here’s a link to my full Pineapple Upside-Down Muffin Recipe so you can try it!)
- Vanilla Soft Cookies: I use that exact same vanilla cake mix box to whip up the easiest, softest vanilla cookies you will ever taste. It cuts my prep time in half, meaning more energy left over to actually enjoy the holidays with my family. Watch for the recipe here.
Add these clean ingredients and baking mixes to your Amazon cart so you can check out seamlessly the morning Prime Day starts!
🚗 Staying Mobile: Driving with Car Hand Controls
This surprises a lot of people, but Amazon actually sells Hand Controls for Vehicles. My right leg doesn’t move as quickly as it used to. I became worried that I wouldn’t be able to switch my foot to the brake fast enough in an emergency, risking an accident.
Finding the right adaptive equipment took some real trial and error:
- The First Attempt (Push-Pull): The first device I tried hurt my hand so severely I couldn’t even drive a single mile.
- The Second Attempt (Push-Rock): This style was less painful, but it left almost zero physical clearance between my lap and the steering wheel.
- The Winner (The “Shift Stick” Style): Finally, I bought a side-mount style that attaches securely near the center console. It looks exactly like a sleek stick shift! There is absolutely no hand pain, and it stays completely off my lap. Here’s a link to the one I own.
If you’re exploring ways to drive without relying on your legs, these may be worth looking into. Crucial Note: Always double-check that the model fits your exact vehicle type, and always hire a certified professional to handle the installation.
🌲 Driveway Alarms & Security Cameras
Living in the country on acreage means having a very long driveway. Because we sit back far from the road, a normal doorbell camera doesn’t cut it.
Instead, we use a wireless Driveway Alarm that alerts us the second a vehicle enters our property line. We pair this with a network of outdoor Reolink Security Cameras. Whether we are checking to see if a package arrived, monitoring local wildlife like coyotes, or tracking how close a rural range fire might be getting while we are away, these cameras give me immense physical peace of mind.
For Smaller Properties: If you live in town and don’t need a driveway alarm, a video doorbell may be a better fit. It lets you see who is at the door or whether a package has arrived without having to get up and answer it—something that can be especially helpful on days when mobility or energy is limited.
🧘♀️ The Ultimate Nervous System Reset: My Meditation Setup
Managing MS naturally isn’t just about cleaning your floors or making recipes—it is about actively calming your central nervous system. When I’m stressed or overstimulated, my muscles can feel even stiffer. To combat this, I have built a daily deep-relaxation routine right in my living room, and Prime Day deals for MS are the perfect time to find the tools to create your own sanctuary.
My secret weapon for total body relaxation is the Beurer IL60 Infrared Heat Lamp for Red Light Therapy.
Here is exactly how I use it to reset my brain and body:
- Get Comfortable: I settle back into my recliner and get completely relaxed.
- Set the Mood: I have Alexa play soft, calm meditation music to block out any distracting background noise.
- The Soothing Warmth: I close my eyes, put on the protective eyewear, and let the infrared light shine gently on my face.
- Mindful Breathing: As the lamp runs on its built-in safety timer, I concentrate entirely on my breathing—slowly breathing in, slowly breathing out. I consciously tell my body to relax, starting from the top of my head and melting all the way down to my toes.
The warmth feels soothing on my muscles and helps me settle into my relaxation routine. For me, using the Beurer IL60 during meditation has become a relaxing part of my daily routine.
🌿 Healing Tip:
Research on red and near-infrared light therapy for MS is still new, but the early results are promising. A 2024 review found that it may help with inflammation and oxidative stress, as well as some movement, sensation, and thinking skills. More research is still needed.
