Strawberry Lemonade Herbal Cooler
This strawberry lemonade herbal cooler is a refreshing MS-friendly drink made with hibiscus tea, fresh strawberries, and lemon — a naturally sweet kombucha alternative with no added sugar.
Course Drinks
Cuisine American
- 2 hibiscus tea bags (I use Traditional Medicinals Rose Hips & Hibiscus)
- 32 oz filtered water
- 4-5 fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2-3 thin lemon slices
Brew the two tea bags in 32 ounces of hot water according to package directions. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate the tea until completely cold.
Place the sliced strawberries in the fruit infuser first, then add the lemon slices on top.
Pour the chilled tea into the bottle around the fruit infuser. Seal and return to the refrigerator.
Infuse for 1–2 hours for a balanced flavor, or overnight for a deeper, more intense result.
If infusing overnight, remove the lemon slices the next morning. The strawberries can stay.
Enjoy throughout the day. For best results, drink before late afternoon if bladder sensitivity is a concern.
- Remove lemon slices after 4–6 hours to prevent bitterness.
- Strawberries can infuse as long as you like — overnight is delicious.
- Do not sweeten unless desired — the fruit provides natural sweetness. If you prefer it sweeter, stir a small amount of raw honey into the warm tea before chilling.
- Drink earlier in the day rather than evening if you’re managing bladder urgency.
- This is a low-histamine kombucha alternative — suitable for people sensitive to fermented foods.
- Leftover infused tea keeps in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.
